The Affilorama Review

Name: Affilorama

Website: http://www.affilorama.com

Price: $1 thirty day trial, $67 monthly, $497 for three years

Owner: Mark Ling

Program Overview

Affilorama was started by Mark Ling in 2005. He got his start as a merchant, owning products like “Jamorama” and “Rocket Piano”. Mark set out to create a platform designed to train his affiliates within these niches.

There are multiple levels of the Affilorama Membership and different products to choose from. Starting with the basic entry level program to more advanced options that include plug in tools. Affilorama is one of the better programs in the industry at evolving. Unfortunately, they do feature “upsells”.

Affilorama’s training starts with the basic program. Videos and online tools are combined in an easy to follow way. In addition, there are software apps, including site ranking and analysis tools, that can be used.

The Premium level offers more training, interviews with people who have found success on the Internet, and boot camp videos. Premium also features content that is tailored for you chosen niche.

Support from community members is offered at all the levels of Affilorama, but a lot of the community is composed of free members. This can be good or bad. There is often times someone in the support forums but they may not be able to give you direct help. A forum allows for delayed support which means a question may take a few days to be answered. You should not expect Mark to be actively involved with the forums. He has MANY different projects and Affilorama is not his main focus.

Affilorama has a lot of product offerings and “upsells”. I do not usually support “upsells”, because I believe when you purchase a product you should have access to everything. If you elect to signup, just be aware that there are “upsells” and avoid them when you can.

Premium ($67 a month)

Premium membership is the core offering. Included in the package is training, limited hosting, forum access, and software. Some of this training is fantastic, but there are some critical flaws in the offering that can have an adverse impact on your business.

The first flaw is the emphasis on Link Building. The problem is Google will actually penalize you for backlinking. This strategy may have worked in 2012, but now it will lead to you losing your business and rankings online. Following this information will lead to failure, and that is never something that I like to see.

The second flaw, with the Premium package, is that they are promoting Private Label Rights (PLR) content. This is also an outdated strategy that will lead you to content marketing failure. Duplicated content will lead to you losing all of your rankings. Outsourced content will never have the same impact as the content you create yourself.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Educational resources, including software applications, that are easy to follow.
  • One of the largest affiliate marketing communities is accessible.
  • You can explore the basics for free without investing.
  • The Premium program comes with a three year payment plan for convenience purposes.

Cons:

  • Choosing the right program for yourself can be difficult, because there are too many options.
  • The basic entry level program is incredibly limited compared to the paid programs.
  • Program fees can become really pricey once you start accounting for the “upsells”.
  • “Support” is handled by a support team, you seldom connect with Mark himself.

The Final Word…

Trusted!

This product features a great deal of tools, training, and support. There are a few different aspects of their system that I disagree with, but Mark Ling and Affilorama are one of the better groups within an industry that is known for “scammers”.

The number of “upsells” and the outdated information within the training techniques can be confusing for beginners. You should approach this program with a well thought out plan of action. Start out with Premium Membership if you decide to join, and then add on tools and products as you see fit.

The $67 per month price tag is a lot higher than better services that are offered to you as an aspiring affiliate marketer.
