Out of all the various ways of squeezing income from the Internet, Affiliate Marketing is the best. With affiliate marketing, you actually generate “passive income”. This means you can earn money while you are sleeping. So, how does affiliate marketing really work? Well, it all starts with a website.
Step 1: Building Your Website
A website is the foundation for success in affiliate marketing. Without a website, it is impossible to succeed. Does the thought of building a website intimidate you? It certainly scared me away from the whole process until I learned how easy it was to make a website these days. Seriously! I’m not tech savvy at all, but there are ways of building a website in under one minute. Building a website is like paving a road, and once that road is paved you can start to generate traffic.
Step 2: Generate Website Traffic with Content
Traffic is generated through creating quality content. Creating content will help you to rank higher in the search engines. If your site ranks on the first page for a particular search term, a lot of people are going to be coming to your site as an authority on that term. The better your content, the better your ranking on a search engine, the more traffic you will accumulate.
Content can be anything from text, comments, videos, and audio. Build quality content, using keywords that rank, and traffic will grow naturally. You can learn more about content creation and generating traffic at Wealthy Affiliate.
Step 3: Monetize Your Site
The road is paved (website), the traffic is flowing (through content), and now it is time to put up some billboards (make money)! Selling affiliate products is simple. Here is an example:
Say your website is about storm gutters (to each his own). First, you would become an affiliate for a gutter repair site. Then, you would write a post about the potential damage a house could incur with faulty gutters and include your affiliate link to the gutter repair site at the end. When your traffic clicks on your affiliate link to the repair site, they pick up your cookie (how the conversion is tracked). If they make a purchase once they have been converted to the gutter repair site, you collect commission on that sale!
Warning: Do Not Try This Alone
Knowing how to make money online is only half the battle. It is important to build a network of people with similar goals. There are too many scams out there, too many vultures, and too much misinformation. With a network, you can ask for help when you get stuck. Affiliate marketing, in general, is not a scam. It’s a legitimate opportunity for you to create your own business. Wealthy Affiliate will teach you all that you need to know. I can easily proof that Wealthy Affiliate isn’t a scam, because they allow you to try before you buy. So decide for yourself, it is completely free to try, and you won’t need to put a credit card down.
Understand that this opportunity is actually building YOUR OWN BUSINESS. It may take time for you to see results, but if you are determined enough and you stick it out, you will start making money. Eventually, this money will replace your regular income.

I just registered for your course,unfortunately I was directed to wealthy affiliate which says I can’t register cos my country is not on the list of supported countries.
We have a population of 170 million, do the maths of Internet users.

You were directed to Wealthy Affiliate because I utilize some of the tools that they provide for free, in my course. Unfortunately, there are some countries that cannot sign-up for a free starter membership. This is due to the fact that there was a large influx of scam and spammy comments from certain countries. To keep WA spam free, the owners took away the free starter membership for the countries in question. Citizens of these countries can still learn from WA, but they have to be paying members (this weeds out the spam contributors. It’s very unfortunate, but a few bad eggs spoiled the bunch.)
